So, you’ve heard all the buzz lately about “morning routines” almost enough to make you want to poke your own eyeballs out, no? Just me? Oh. Lol.
Not everyone loves to meditate or workout so don’t make yourself feel like a bad person if you don’t meditate, work out, read 900 pages + drink hot water with lemon all before 6 am.
The intention behind a morning routine is great, but it’s not a one-size-fits-all solution and it’s definitely not meant to stress you out/make you feel bad.
It’s a tool meant to empower you + set the tone for the rest of your day!
As much as we wanna hate on all this hype around the “7 secrets successful people do before dawn,” and the “97 things to make your mornings easier,” we know there has to be some validity to all this mumbo jumbo.
Well, I’m here to tell you...there actually is.
I can’t deny it, morning routines are game changers. That being said, there is no one way to morning routine yourself.
Sure you can meditate, journal, eat breakfast, have sex, wash your face, do yoga + stand on your head, but not everyone loves these things! It’s all baby steps.
The point here is everyone’s perfect morning looks way different. And with my unrelenting interest in the effectiveness (and even necessity) of morning routines, I’ve learned you have to find what works for you. Plain + simple.
In books like the “7 Habits of Highly Successful People,” Tim Ferriss’ “4 Hour Workweek” + even Gretchen Rubin’s book “Better than Before,” each author touts routines + habits in the morning as the catalyst for the rest of their day. Some of them are extreme + take 2-3 hours every morning + others just a few minutes.
Tony Robbins has been quoted saying, “if you don’t have ten minutes for yourself, you don’t have a life.” So, if Big Tone can take ten minutes out of his day, no excuses, I’m fairly certain we can too. By the way, he calls his morning routine/ritual: “priming” for the day. Which is exactly what it is!
So if past morning routines haven’t worked for you, there is absolutely nothing wrong with YOU, but there mayyy be something off with your routine.
